Made a hunt today amidst the threatening rain. Got to the place about 3:30 and got to the spot about 3:50. At 4:20, 2 does came walking out from Rhine the bushes in front of me. Let the bigger doe walk till she was broadside to me. Didn't think she was as close to me as she was. Arrow flew high and made a clean pass thru just below the spine. Arrow stuck in the mud behind her. Gave her about 10 minutes and got up to start tracking her.
Only one problem... No blood, no hair, no form of guts whatsoever in the spot where I shot her. It had starting drizzling/misting rain by this point. It had rained all day and it was not dry at all. Looked for some form of blood but found none. Walked down the trail that her and the other doe had took off down. It's very thick in these woods. Searched for about 3 hours before it was too dark to see. Gonna head back tomorrow morning hoping to find her piled up tomorrow.
Saw 4 others but left my phone in the truck so it wouldn't get wet.
