Some other vegetables that do well in containers are squash, pole beans, bush tomatoes and eggplants. Just be aware that your pots will need to be in an area that gets good sun, but not in the hottest part of the day in the summer. Morning sun is always good. Good luck!!

Another option is instead of using pots you can just buy the bags of miracle grow top soil, cut a slit in the bag and just plant them through there.... After the plants die just spread the dirt in the yard and your done.
If you want to do strawberries, look into the hanging pipe planters... I am told they work well |

We grow gypsy peppers in pots and they do great. Its a wonderful sweet pepper with good size to it. If you want to try em just pm me and I'll send you some seeds. We collect all of our own seeds. Gypsies look like an elongated bell pepper and are a little smoother tasting pepper than a bell. Excellent pepper for eating straight off the plant. Just dont tell my wife I do that.lol

Peppers are predominately used in Hispanic foods, and other foreign countries. If avoid them

Strawberries are easy, and I'm sure your niece will appreciate it. Hanging planters or something to keep the strawberries off the ground is a pretty good idea. Keeps the bugs off and the fruit fresh longer.

Someone told me today that you're supposed to plant strawberries in the fall for spring picking? So is it a waste to plant them now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
