The Triton 18c with a 115 yamaha will be my next boat. I have an Alumacraft now and love it. I would look online for complaints about the different boats you might be interested in. I choose alumacraft do to how hard it was to find a complaint. The other 2 mentioned in your post well somethings are better left unsaid. Just go look for yourself.

Check out the Ranger line of aluminum boats at Lake Area Marine. They look really sharp.

don't overlook the Alwelds
they are very well made and I love them, just bought my third one, lots of styles and options to fit your own personal needs check em out: http://www.alweld.com/ if you want something different then the 17' & 18' "standard" sizes they list in bass boats they will work up a price for you, they make boats up to 28' |

SeaArk makes a nice one. It has a 15 degree V all the way to the back so it rides better than most company's in chop. You can get it with gator hide interior instead of carpet, similar to bed liner material but comes in several colors. I would stay away from xpress, your mostly paying for a pretty paint job.

Tracker is a good boat......but a wet ride and ruff in some chop.

I prefer Xpress over the others. I find they hold up better and as long as you get the hyper lift hull they ride great. Also they fill the void spaces with foam so they are not near as noisey as the others.

Agree. Had a 17' that I really liked but felt it was underpowered with a 90. Sent from my Surface with Windows RT using Tapatalk |

How about the excel boats, they build a bass boat and look to be pretty tough. ... A few things to remember are type of trailer if you will launch in salt or brackish water and also I know Aluma craft seals all connections which keeps out salt but not sure about other makers

Stay away from Tracker. No customer service, no local dealer support. I've read good things about Seaark.

Have you thought about having one built? The price is about the same and you get what you want for the same price if not better.

i have had xpress, alweld, and own a sea ark xv 180 now. I absolutely love it. It handles rough water very well and turns on a dime. An extremely well built boat!

If you haven't, don't forget to tell Kyle you heard about it on SaltyCajun. Kyle and Gerald like to hear their sponsorship of SaltyCajun is paying good dividends.
