Default ? on area North of Turners Bay.

We have a camp not to far from Turners and we always drive up into the area around Choupique island. One area we have always wondered about but never been brave enough to explore is the area just North of Turner bay. It is a large bay structure with multiple inlets. Not sure how deep it is or if anyone has ever fished it.
Also at one of the entrances there has some long wooden structures on either side of the opening. Why was this stuff installed?

Thanks for the info.

I went through there this winter. Very shallow. It was full of ducks in there. Didn't try to fish it though. Make sure it's high tide for sure.

We have pushed into a couple of the entrances and obviously they are deeper in the middle. I"ll have to putt around one day taking a look. From satellite images it looks like the wooden structures are are at most of the main entrances. Maybe to help with erosion or something

Better have a high tide to even drift it , only thing I ever caught in that area was small trout and reds .... We had a real high tide few winters ago with some strong south winds and I went in there

I believe those structures were holding pens for discarded Christmas trees a long time ago. Real shallow like everyone says.

REAL SHALLOW-------Flew up in there to fish and could never get back on plane. Depth finder was reading 0'. Trimmed big motor up with just the prop in it and somehow got out of there. Sketchy for sure.

It does look fishy in there but water is just too shallow I think.

think you can get back there in 18x42 southfork and catch some reds?

if so, what would be the best tactic to slapping some reds on the deck?

Go in on plane and find an area deep enough to get on step to get back out.

Be very careful in there, shallow and lots of oysters. It's kayak country. Will ding your prop. The wooden structures are Christmas tree frames just like the ones in the old river past the Country Club.
