From the LDWF Website, Particular to Rockefeller:
''Non-compatible Uses
Along with hunting and commercial fishing, RWR considers other activities to be not compatible with the goals/mission of the refuge. Non-compatible uses include overnight camping, horseback riding, ATV riding, geocaching, commercial guiding/tours, swimming, and canoeing/kayaking on the refuge. The latter two are primarily for safety reasons due to the abundance of alligators and the potential for negative interactions with large alligators.''

I believe the bill has already been turned down. This is a post from LKFC:

"Congratulations! Our Legislature knows better... The bill was shot down in the floor of the house in a 30 something to 60 something vote. Louisiana takes another step in the 'nanny state' direction!"

I'm not saying no one does it, just that you're not supposed to. Guess it just depends on how mr game wardens day is going if you run into him. I think the rule is dumb. It can't be any worse over there versus lake Martin as far as gators go

You will not have any issues accessing the wiers with your boat, unless it is the Mud hole on a low tide..... We hit the weirs in a 35' Contender and 28' Scout getting our bait before heading to blue water .

Didn't they just alleviate this problem? I thought that was one of the things that was done when the landing was closed some months back.
