If you're riding, assume every driver around you is texting and no one sees you. Car drivers who are inexperienced at riding motorcycles are not psychologically intimidated by motorcycles due to their smaller sizes. If an 18 wheeler was next to their car it would have one hundred percent of their attention. To be clear, most car drivers are good drivers, just that a lot of them are unaware. They don't know a motorcycle can brake in half the distance of their car at the same speed. You have to ride a motorcycle as defensively as possible. If you take the bad *** attitude that you have the right of way, screw them....you're a dead man walking. (riding)

The way that bike was literally in pieces and exploded. Also how far he was from initial impact, how far his helmet and watch was past him and also how his shoes was at the site of impact tells me he was not going the posted 40mph. It was the worst I've ever seen. I can't get it out of my head.

Yeah you're right. Some of these riders think they're invincible, full of piss and vinegar. I can think of some wild antics I pulled in the 70's when I was in my 20's and the Good Lord saw me through and gave me the chance to grow up and get smart.

The kid killed was my in law's neighbor's kid. He was 22. Rode his cycle fast all the time. My BIL even commented that he was gonna kill himself on that thing.

Live by the throttle die by the throttle. I feel bad for this guys family but he made his own decision. My brother and his buddies routinely ride over the 150 mark when the road allows. When they go ride for the day I just hope the next phone call I get isnt the bad one. I rode his death rocket once and only once. It scared da hell outa me. That thing will pull a wheeley at 130 and he is still spending $ for more horsepower.

Whether it's by the throttle or by Vibrio, we are all gonna go one way or another. I made it out of my sportbike days with only a little skin loss and a bike full of "Character"

I went through the crotch rocket days myself back in the mid 90's! Finally realized it was time to get rid of it was when I started riding wheelies down Johnston Street in Lafayette!
