My tacoma gets about 18 hwy 16 city... and about 12 pulling anything... Terrible for a small truck. But i love it... u can buy one and in 10 years still sell it for alot of money... unlike one of those other trucks. lol... Oh and and the lil ole v6 will put a spanking on an Ecoboost, chevy, tundra or titan.

What recalls are you guys referring to? I have had 2 recalls on my new GMC. One was power sliding back glass and one was something with exhaust. Don't know what's such a big deal with that. Brought it into the dealership and they took care of it in a few hours. Love my truck. F-150 is a nice ride too. But after my 2012 F250 was in the shop FIVE times before I hit 50k miles, I traded that POS in on my GMC All Terrain. Had a 2009 Duramax that I put 100,000 miles on without one issue before I sold it. My dad has new GMC with about 60k miles and not one issue and I have about 20k miles on mine with no issues. Gets about 15-16 in town and 18-19 on hwy. Towing is night and day between it and the older GMs. Haters gonna hate.

Here is one. http://gmauthority.com/blog/2014/03/...for-fire-risk/ Maybe your truck didn't fall under it, there are many more. It's been all over the news, they have come under some serious government scrutiny and had ax a bunch of high level employees to save face. GM has had 60 recalls in 2014 for a total of 29 million vehicles. 13 deaths have been attributed to a measly little ignition recall. |

If i was to buy a full size truck it would be a hard decision between the Ford and the GMC i like them both equally! I dont care about all that recall BS... It would probably just be which dealership in my area gave me the best deal!

I have a 5.7 liter pushing the 400hp envelope, 4x4 crew can and get over 20 mpg between 75 and 80mph.
I don't see the conspiracy, it's pretty impressive if you ask me. The technology to give you 40mpg AND not be an absolute turd would be so expensive right now that you would cry conspiracy for price gouging. |

![]() I'm going to have to call you on that, unless you have a single cab 2wd with a manual transmission. Even then highway mileage was rated at 18mpg for a z71, and we know that's going slow and in a controlled environment the EPA. Plus, that engine maybe had 250hp... 2013 Ram Last edited by Goooh; 08-04-2014 at 06:51 PM. Reason: add |

1998 chevy 1500 Silverado 2wd short wheel base fully loaded with power everything and small block 350 5.7 with EFI and towing package, doesn't smoke and gets the same mileage as new. if you try to look it up today, most websites says it got 14 city and 18 hwy but they must be based on using using different gearing because I am the original owner of the truck and as sold the mileage sticker was 19 city and 21 hwy and that's still what I get today (+/- 1mpg) with 120,000 miles on it. I get 18 and 21 puling a 17x 52 flatboat around (+/- 1mpg). the only bad thing is the transmission blew up at 100,000 miles as they always do (that's a $2,800 rebuild) and I just had to replace those stupid plastic intake manifold gaskets they used that always start to leak after 90,000-100,000 miles so that's another $1,000 repair. I use the trip meter all the time and check mpg at every fill up so I know if something is wrong. the k & n air filter replacement did bump it up to 19/21 from 18/20 I was getting with the original stock paper style filter so if I had done that from new I might have gotten better then 19/21 when it was new. having a better air filter does make a difference.
