Good lookin sawhorses, i keep wondering how long I will deal with cutting on tailgates and picnic tables before I commit to building some horses...

I have 2 sets of those and love them.
I found a design on the web and built them. Nice job. |

Yeah that's same thing I did as well - they seem pretty solid and happy the way they turned out

saw horses
I had a aluminum ladder on my cheapo plastic sawhorses a few weeks back. I went to garage the next morning and the legs had give in to heat/3o lbs of weight. Had 6 boxes of stuff trying to sort out and get down to two boxes. Stuff scattered everywhere. I like my sawhorses tall like 39" because I hate leaning over to do woodworking. Have a 4' X 8' rolling work table with 6- 4X4 legs and 38" high. It is low enough for whatever I push across the table saw ....if I chock the wheels first. Looks like you used treated wood and that is a good idea.

I was thinking of making these a bit higher but for what I do, 32" will suffice.

I got a couple that you could have borrowed.
Yours look better than mine. |

Thanks Gerald. This actually a ploy to fill up the garage so the wife lets me build a "shop"! Haha

They look great.
You may want to lay another 2x4 on top of the other one. If you do that you can cut into it when cutting something and when the board is cut up to much you just change it out |

when you do what I did and get distracted by someone talking to you and cut into the tailgate of your nice truck it really helps you prioritize the value of a set of good saw horses lol
