Default Need your recommendations on a boat

I am in the market for a boat...i will use it for hunting, and will fish Vermillion Bay from time to time...I was thinking about a small boat, something like a 16-17' Aluminum center console....What do you guys think??? Thanks in advance...

It's not much more to go with a 18 foot with a 90hp. There alot of good brands out there, just stay away from xpress. I have owned 2 alweld hulls and there a tank, also the southforks are solid as a rock.

No..No marsh hunting...mostly to access Indian Bayou for Deer.....Lake Sport is no longer making boats....found a Lakesport for sale it's a 16' with a 50 yamaha...was just wondering if you guys thought it would be too small, and if aluminum was a no no for fishing the bays

If you plan on fishing V. Bay get a 18' with a 90.Try to find a boat that has a vee all the way to the back of the boat, trust me.

yeah the bay can get pretty choppy fast..i'm sure any body that fishes the bay has seen those crazy people in 15ft flats with 40's in the pass but that wont be me...the bay can be rougher than the gulf sometimes

Default size matter

I own an 18 & 1/2 center counsole Key West. Have been bounced around in the bay pretty good on a couple occaisons. You just have to pick your days and watch out for thunder storms. Wish would have spent a little more and got at least 22'. I know this is not the kind of boat for hunting but the hunting season is so short compared to being able to fish year round. Just my two cents
