offshore? There are not a lot of rigs that are near shore here. I think the closest rig is 6 miles out, but on calm days it can be a killer location.

bertrand canal. watch the tides and wind. you wont catch a fish if the water isn't moving.

I've caught reds, specks, and flounder right off of the bank adjacent to the parking lot at the East End locks when the tide is going out. Cut mullet and pogies have been a great bait under a popping cork this time of year through end of November. Good Luck!

From looking at the map, it appears there is a good weir to the West of where Rollover Bayou empties into the gulf. Wonder if anyone has any info on that? I'm thinking there would be very little "competition" if that weir is still functional since you have to enter the GOM for a bit. |
