11-7 Lake P Slowing Down
High winds and big waves early. Only small trout wanted to bite. Shut it down early to come home and watch the Tigers play. 5 small trout and one flounder. Not worth taking any pictures. Lake P needs another cold front to come down and jump start these big trout again. GO TIGERS! |

We hit P-Train this morning and did about the same. We launched at bonabell and ran into some nasty wind and waves. We only fished the causeway for about an hour or so before getting annoyed with the crumby conditions. We quickly headed back to the launch, put the boat back on the trailer, and headed to the train trestles. We fished the trestles for about 3 hours and ended up with about 8 trout, 4 flounder, and a few rat reds. We released the trout and gave the flounder to my mother in law.

I went to Bonnabel first, and watched a little 18ft boat try and make it around the breakwater. When I saw the gunnels disappear behind the waves, I knew there was no way in hell I was going to catch anything on the southshore.
We need a good cold front to get things back on track. It was 80 degrees at 11 this morning. I'll probably go back to fishing Lafitte and sling some dinks until that colder weather comes back. Last edited by YellaBlazer; 11-07-2009 at 07:29 PM. Reason: Case of the W's |
