I have a garmin 740s. Thinking about switching over to the Lowrance 7 There are like 3 different ones. What is the dif. Is it just ones newer? I want it for the sidescan and the down imaging and the option to by new maps.

Might as well but they are close gen 2 update is makes it just like the 3. Only big difference is the 3 has buttons on the side, Chirp, better satellite update 10 vs 5. Chirp is for deeper water, and i think it really won't see mich of a difference
