Default Big Lake Top Water 8/29-8/30

Got out there early Saturday morning. Guess I was a little too early because I couldn't see my lure on top. Bait was popping all around me but I couldn't buy a bite for the first 20-30 minutes. Once it got light they started smashing that little skitter walk. Action was really good and at about 8:00 I had 13 in the box. Then the tide went slack and not a single strike for 45 minutes. I held tight though and as soon as the tide started rolling again, bam, bam 14, 15, and done. 8:40.

Since I was done early, I went scout some other spots to see if I could find a back up plan for Sunday. I went to four spots. I caught a couple of trout at two of them and the other spots had several boats, so I moved on.

Sunday morning I went right back to where I was the day before. I was in a slightly different area but it was still good, even better. Limit of trout by 8:30. Same bait. Same presentation.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that the moon phase conversation from this forum is relevant. Good report, always appreciate when someone takes the time to post.

What color Skitterwalker you throwing? Last Friday they ate my big Speckled Trout one but wouldn't touch the small one.

They wanted the small one. Chrome and blue was the ticket.
