Default Ribs practice run

I fell into a good deal on a Big Green Egg a few weeks ago. This was only my second time using it and only my second time cooking ribs. I would rate them as "alright". The sauce was decent, but wasn't the right flavor for ribs.... Too much vinegar. I still have a ways to go before I can say I mastered it, but I have no problem with practicing! I roasted some carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes for a side and whipped up a quick cole slaw as well. All in all, I'm going to bed full and happy. It was a good way to top off a gorgeous weekend.

Go to the egghead forum. There are some recipes for turbo ribs, I have had good results doing turbo style.

I'd eat that. I love to cook ribs. I like to cook them more than I like to eat them actually. Looks great man. Grilled veggies are awesome too

Love me some smoked ribs. I keep 2 or 3 racks in the freezer. Got my own rub and BBQ sauce specifically for ribs.

Homey don't play, JACK!

Did you make the sauce or use store bought? If so what kind?

Store bought. Russell's Cajun BBQ Sauce. I liked the flavor of the sauce, it just didn't have the flavor I think of when I think of ribs. Like I said earlier... Too much vinegar. I tried cutting it with some ketchup, but the vinegar still shined through. Overall it's a pretty good sauce though. I think next time I may try and make my own sauce.

My favorite rib sauce is straight up Kraft original. I add brown sugar or honey with super fine diced onion and jalepeno or any pepper of choice. Depending on my mood how much of what I add. The Kraft original is a solid base to start from and it's cheap. If a batch doesn't come out how you want just trash it and start over.
