Default Grand Canyon

Hello everyone,
Recently I visited Grand Canyon National Park and traversed from North Rim to South Rim in one day. That is 24 miles, elevation change from 8,241 feet to 2,480 feet then back up to 6,860 feet. It was one heck a va hike. Below link is a youtube video I created with a Go Pro. First attempt at this. Please enjoy!

Man that is soooo cool! What a grand creation and looks like you had great weather. Did you get to see some wildlife?

I had some friends do that a few years back, said it was awesome. I also heard about some insane people that run it every month...but they run rim to rim to rim......48 mile run with that much elevation change must be a beast!

We did see some wildlife. Lots of Mule Deer on North Rim. Several Elk and Mule on South Rim. Saw plenty of small animals, lizards and such.

Three of us did rim 2 rim. It took us 13 hours. I slowed the group up bc I started cramping with about 4 miles to go.

There was 3 other guys that did rim to rim to rim. One guy completed the 44 mile journey in 16 hours. The other two slowed down due to cramps and finished in 20 hours.

Rim to rim in 1 day is insane!
Last year we did a 3 night 4 day backpacking trip which was really fun. I guess you don't have to hump the backpack out when you do it in 1 day but even with nothing on my back no way I was climbing out of there in a single day!
