Default Launch for fishing the Hammock area

Has anybody ever tried to launch closer to the hammock and fish that area?
It's a four mile peddle from the state park but it looks like from google earth that there may be another area to launch that is closer to Hammock bayou.
If not, who's down for s long paddle/peddle??..

Hell, I would just drive down to the end of the point and ask the first person I saw if I could launch at their camp.

Find a member of the Cypremort Point Yacht club. They have a private launch right at the end of the Point in the boat basin.

yea, there are several private launches up and down the road to the end. For a kayak, you could launch at the old Bayview restaurant pretty easily I think. But the other post about asking the first person you see will probably work. Lots of docks etc.
no other public launches except main launch.

I would be scared to death to go the hammock in a kayak. You could get caught on the wrong side of a thunderstorm pretty easily that far away from land.

I think he's talking about the rigs in Cote Blanche; one of the bigger installations has been called the Hammock over the years.
