Ling Setups
Caught few ling this past year, which is a blast !!! All were caught on my speck poles, and that one on right was caught on my wife's sipncast. Looking to upgrade and get some type of rod n reel that can handle a 40# plus but still can cast. I would love to see some of your set ups that yall use for the bigger fish. |

I use to use a large spinning reel on a medium action 11ft surf. It was a set up for striped bass. You can cast it a mile. I would use a 2oz buck tail jig with an 8in worm trailer or a magnum rapala.

I agree, Ling are a fun fish to catch and great to eat!
We caught a few this year on vertical jigs with our snapper rod-n-reels. (Penn combo you can get at Academy) Also caught some on a large bucktail jig. Ling are easy to spot even with our out of date Garmin sonar. When we see one playing around under the boat we drop down to that depth and have had good success. |

I like to use a spinning reel on a 6ft 6" jigging rod. I have a shimano baitrunner 8000 and 12000. Bucktail jig with a curlytail grub or a Spanish sardine

I use my bass flipping stick.
7'6" Castaway 7mag Curado 200 e7 and 65# Power Pro 1oz jig head and a 6" chart gulp Squid Handles them just fine. |

upgrade to those 13fishing reels and then you have a beast mode setup. The power of those reels are crazy! Super torque |

Same here. That's why I tried the 13fishing, so far so good but I've only had it for about 2 months. Probably caught about 150 bass with it so far, but it hasn't been in salt yet. Still smooth as butter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
