Fishing Tournament Input
My name is David Thibodeaux and I have a Non-Profit Organization called We Heart Veterans that provides disabled veterans with needs such as wheel chair ramps, hand rails, medical equipment, and other things that are not covered by their insurance and cant afford on their own. We would like to put on a fishing tournament to raise money for We Heart Veterans. So I would like to get your input on the kind of fishing tournament you would like to have. We are looking to have it sometime in the summer of 2017. So please give me your input so we can get this started! Thanks! |

If you want it to be as big as possible make multiple categories and multiple side pots that are fun.
Just have it be fun and get as many people involved as possible. Just make sure there is a lure division and a live bait division and don't make them compete against each other, make those 2 stand alone. You could even have an additional 'guided' division. Many companies would love to get their people on the water and write it off to charity and all the guides could get a party as well. Have fun. t |

I would try NOT to do it in the summer. 95 degree days just aren't that fun to be out fishing all day. maybe Easter break (Easter is April 16 2017) or a few weeks before hunting season kicks off.

If you can't get a public place and need a place to host this, I'd be more than happy to donate the use of my place on the channel in Hackberry. It is a couple acres, so plenty of parking. From the tournaments we have done, I'd recommend a three fish stringer type of set up in the Spring or Fall, I second eman on not having during the summer.
