Lake Charles...Casa Manana (obviously), Burger Barn (weekdays, get the onion rings!), Pats of Henderson (steaks & seafood, east side of town right off 210, try the stuffed snapper), Nina P's (weekdays & saturday, love the gumbo), Steamboat Bills on the Lake (crawfish or try the house potato).

Kinder...Faustos (burgers and chicken, have a great room full of amazing taxidermy) or Roy's Catfish Hut (ask for the thin and crispy!)

Speaking of Boudin.... How you guys like the Boudin from Don's Specialty Meats in Scott?...

I bet I spend 800 dollars a year at that place. I know everytime i pass by that place I buy 10 pounds (literaly) and have NEVER wasted a link. I swear i can live off of bounin.

My wife said i was gonna turn into a link of boudin and a can of coors.

I used to eat at some place in Berwick and I can't remember the name, but they hands down had the best fried poke chop with white beans and rice I've ever eaten. It was right before the bridge near the Walmart off 90.
Those stuffed deboned chickens with crawfish dressing from Heberts in Maurice were always a stop and get item on my way home...course that was a few years back.

Thumbs up

Some of my favorites that I miss and try to have when I come in town are Darrel's Special w/ Jalapeno Mayo, Paronia's Cajun Roast Beef, Leonards Boudin is hands down the best in Lake Charles & Famous Foods soft and spicy cracklins they will light you up but damn they are good. My parents own a boudin and sausage kitchen in Kinder, LA called Chadeaux's. It is the first gas station on the left after you pass the John Deere dealer on HWY 165 in Kinder. If you stop in you have to get their smoked boudin (the best I have ever had) and grab about 10 packs of their beef jerkey because the first couple will be gone shortly after you open them. One other I forgot about is Cain's extra toast and extra Cains sauce. Damn they have some good eats back home.
