My blind in white lake has been very slow the last two weeks as has my blind in Hackberry. Reports are much better on the coast. Welsh blind is very slow and has been all year.

I hunted at our lease in Texas on Wens and we had a quick limit, all teal and one spoonie. I am headed down there again in the am.

Good luck guys.

We hunted the timber last week and ended up with 8 but it was a quick shoot. I've hunted pine island, grand chiener, gum cove and the burns. All have dropped numbers in 2 weeks. I was lucky enough to get on some 10-16 bird hunts in the a few places but most have dropped off. My dads blind in Roanoke has only killed 10 birds all year. Last year they killed 160 out of it. First split with no fronts killed the fields but the marsh was hammering them. 2nd split when we started getting rain and cold weather the marshes decreased and the fields never increased. It's been a different year for sure. I wish everyone the best in the morning and shoot the suckers in face!'

It's been a better than average year for us this year. First split was awesome and the second split was not quite as good but we had some real good hunts still. Birds are all around us but the don't want to do anything for us though.

This is what I'm competing with after all this rain. It's not but 500 yards from where I'm hunting but they won't leave it. Not sure if you'll be able to see the birds in the picture, I took it with my phone.

Not even a 1/4 mile NE of where we hunt it's loaded with pintail and mallards. Makes me sick when I see all those ducks. Wish I could shoot them!

Had a good trip in Texas this morning, they have not had near the rain Louisiana has had. We had to hunt until almost 11 but we got our 24, lots of pintail. Myself and three co workers. I heard two good reports in south west Louisiana, most were really bad.

Going back to the Texas lease again in the am.

Default Jan 5th Pre-Rain Report

Hunted yesterday with #3 son. We onesyed and twosyed our way to a limit. The Bolivar Kid, Pants on the Ground and PotG's #1 son hunkered down in the lodge to avoid the inclement weather. We returned to the lodge just in time to watch it rain all day and evening. Still a pretty good time.

Nice hunt!

Looks like the rest of the crew should have ventured out with y'all instead of worrying about the weather.

i went sunday and the ducks are there, buy scattrered like a mofo. Ended the morning with 5 black jacks and 3 greays for 2 people. The first bird i killed sunday was a blackjack and it had a ban on it. With this rain we gonna get this week is just gonna make it worse.
