Starting to think that delayed teal migration might not be such a bad thing we covered up with em right now.

Yea that's what I said after the season. What we didn't kill for teal we will kill now. Best part is there's 2x more food for the first big push of birds bc bw didn't eat none. That's y we seeing so many this early! First split gonna be the best in yrs it looks like

Could of killed my limit sitting on top the boat shed yesterday evening. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383619502.046809.jpg

I walked right up on this group this morning. What you see up close is decoys my brother left out, but there's about 150 to the back ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383619628.079344.jpg

Just got done re-painting some decoys "Big Pond" hooked me up with, got the new blind built and brushed this weekend and got a half-day planned for work Friday. Gonna get out there Friday afternoon and make sure everything is good and start the cool pops and some good food on the stove. Gonna try to start a new tradition this year and bring the ol lady with me on opening day, cant wait to see her bust her first ducks this weekend!

She actually helped me build the blind this weekend. At first she was nervous about getting in the canoe, after a couple trips of bringing lumber she was hopping in and standing up taking pics like shes been doing it her whole life. I gotta remind myself how lucky I am sometimes.

Did some work at a blind east of gueydan Saturday. Was holding a few hundred specks and couple thousand ducks. There were a few snowflakes mixed in with the specks. Sunday went to thornwell and also saw a mix with the majority being specks.

Went Saturday and got the blind cleaned up and got the decoys all taken out and loaded up ready to go. Buffaloed ponds yesterday morning and cut more brush yesterday afternoon. Had about 50 teal sitting in the pond when I got there yesterday. Gonna finish cutting brush this afternoon and go get the blind brushed then stay out till Friday afternoon late to go ad out out decoys. Then I have to try and make myself go to sleep Friday night, that's usually the hard part.

Nothing beats a big ol breakfast after the morning hunt! Eggs, biscuits, bacon and sausage along with fig preserves and a fresh pot of coffee. A nap is then in order to replenish energies for the next go round of cookin' and watching college football on Sat afternoon.
