Minnkota Riptide 80lb ST 60in shaft. This 80lb tm is more than enough for this boat. Hold strong with the anchor lock. 1/2,1, 1, 1/2, 2 etc up to 10 for speed Absolutely no regrets

X2 on the Ipilot, Its the bomb-diggidy.
Jackplate - depends upon how brave/stupid you are. I got the jackplate cause i say im brave but friends say im stupid... Had to use it a few times in real shallow water. Motor... well my boat cruses at 45mph, I have only been passed a few times. I fish V Bay so it is wide open and rough going most of the time. The thing is when you are out with friends anything over 40-45, the wind noise gets loud and its tough to have a conversation. Fuel is not getting any cheaper either, so consumption should be a consideration. In V bay you can expect 50 mile trips. IMO 5k for 6-7 mph isn't worth it, i would put it into other accessories...like trim tabs.. I have been out with Alphaman in his rig. Its a great boat and the 175 performs well. |
