That really would be a waste then wouldn't it. I hope they flourish and start breeding otherwise they will keep spending money on them. They are pretty awesome to see in person though. I've never seen a bird that big except at a zoo

Not tryin to argue but we're 16 trillion dollars in debt, are whooping cranes really that essential? When the fiscal cliff comes, and it will come eventually, you'll be living in a zoo.

In terms $16 trillion, whooping crane restoration is so far at the bottom of the concern list that it aint worth complaining about. Cutting out that program will give Obama what like 5 more minutes of spending? If you wanna fight the good fight think bigger. Not big birds and not.....well....BIG Bird!!

Perhaps if you take the 15,000 dumba$$ programs like this and shut em down you would actually save some money! The whoopers are dumb and will continue to fly into powerlines and kill themselves! As far as Big Bird and PBS. They don't need to be subsidized by tax payer money. Where is all that money from the sale of Big Bird merchandise going? Cut it out! STOP the spending. You can tax us all you want, heII you can take it all but you still spending more than you taking in. Cannot sustain. Crash, Riot, war, reset! It's gonna happen!
