I use samarai braid.....its smaller than pp and doesn't have all that wax, also, its much smoother so it doesn't cut into your eyes and reel......its more expensive, but only buy 1 roll every few years.....other good thing about it is it doesn't Fray like pp........good luck Jordan, buy a roll of each and try it out. ......

I always wanted to try the Samurai braid by Diawa, I got to save up some money before I buy a 500 yd spool of that though lol

if you do get snagged, just rap the line a few times around the butt of your rod.

Almost agree, made the switch to braid 4 years ago, fished 30# pp until last year, now I am 100% suffix. PP and Suffix are about the same, just prefer suffix over pro don't know why. Make sure you put a fluro leader. Doesn't matter as much when fishing muddy waters like Big Lake, but will make a huge difference when fishing clear ponds for bass.

Can't beat braid, you can feel every little bite on the line. If you ever try to go back to mono it will feel like you are fishing with a rubberband. Another plus, I fish marshes for bass all the time, braid cuts through lillies like a knife, can't beat it man.

thats what I wanted to hear... I heave heard from several different people that if your spool has holes in it (which all of mine do) to not even worry about putting 2-5 yards of mono to seat the PP or braided line. Im going to get some PP tonight and just put it in one of the holes and fill up the spool..... I'll be leaving bright and early tomorrow morning to make an afternoon/evening bass trip... i'll take plenty of pics and post them up on Tuesday when I return (due to not having a computer and i cant upload pics form my BB)

Why would you want to cut into the cork or foam on the but of your rod?

the reason i put 1/3 or 1/2 a spool of mkono on first is because the braid is expensive and you very rarely get it down to the backing so i basiclly just fill up the spool with garbage mono then put a top shot of braid. tie a uni-uni knot for the braid to mono connection. even i dirty water i use a leader cept when targeting reds

Dont spool a 200 curado without backing, it will take a 150yrd spool of 20lb pp in a heartbeat.

Jordan there aint nothing like walking the dog on power pro. Tie on a chug bug or zara spook and back the drag off and look out especially in a private pond.

I can spool 2 Curados with a 150 yard spool of 30# Power Pro (75 yards each). I string my reels like Pox does.

I have p pro on all my reels but one. On the other i have some 20# copolymer line my dad gave me. Love the braid though. you can pretty much straighten the hook if you get hung up before your line breaks.

The uni knot is the only one you need to know. IMO

If I seen it being tied, I'd probably know it. I've tied several different knots, but don't know/remember the names of them
