Chris Stapleton is pretty damn good and has an older sound to him. Maybe that's just me, but he ain't Keith Urban or Luke Bryan.

I like Chris Stapleton a lot. Reminds me a little of the old outlaw bunch. But, he's still not close to the likes of Haggard or Jones.

Do yourselves a favor and go listen to folks like Jason Isbell and Ryan Bingham. It's not the same as the classics, but it's sure as sh*t better than what's on your radio.

And there never will be another. Just like there will never be another Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, AC/DC, or Lynard Skynard in Rock, or a Dizzie Gilespy, Louis Armstrong or Miles Davis in Jazz.

Music changes. I don't like pop country much either, but to think it will always be what it was in the 70s, 80s, and 90s is foolish.

Man if you like jazz and blues you should look up Jill Barber on youtube. Never Quit Loving You is my favorite. Damn that woman has a great voice. She can go low or high and her voice is as smooth as silk.

Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and dare I say Adele. Very soulful voice.
Although I'm not a fan of her music I have recently gained a lot of respect for lady gaga. She sang our national anthem at an event not long ago and did a great job. After it was reported that she said if you can sing that and not get chill bumps then you shouldn't be singing it. Gota respect that.

X2 on the Gaga thing, never knew anything about her before she sang the national anthem but she impressed me

"In Bloom" That's a Nirvana Cover Song, I'm sorry he didn't do it justice. Like to see Chris Stapelton try it!

I have to agree with you there. In all fairness, some bands/singers just shouldn't be covered, and Nirvana is one of them. Their music was perfect and no one needs to put their own spin on it. Judging by the 2 songs from Sturgill's new album, I won't be buying this one. He's getting a little too out there for my taste. I wish he'd get back more to his bluegrass days when he played with Sunday Valley. One thing I've noticed and never understood is when a lot of these singers hit it big, they all of a sudden change their whole style. Why not stick with what got you noticed in the first place?

If I had all the bar tab money that I spent with the Hag playing on the juke box I'd be a much wealthier man but poorer in another way for sure. I sat and drank a few too many beers listening ot his music and singing along like we usta do on the way to da camp.
