Glad your son got to hunt and hopefully you will be able to do so before he gets much older. Keep fishing with him!
That's because our beloved worm of a governer is more concerned about a future run for president than serving the people of Louisiana. Pardons have a way of haunting political candidates. Our next Governor needs to have one foot in the grave so he can worry about whats going on in this state.

Would it be legal for you to get a really high powered adult air rifle with scope and hunt small game with your son? I know its not the ideal situation but at least you could squirrel and rabbit hunt with him. Some of those air rifles shoot harder than a 22 now days. BTW, from your posts you seem like a really stand up guy and I hope you get your pardon. You have paid for your past sins

Check out this article from a lawyer in BR. Don't know what your crime was but there are more than 1 path to gun ownership for convicted felons.

Yes I already went before the pardon board got approval but the Govenor can choose to sign or not even with their reccomendation. I have two years left for 10 years from completion of sentence my son will be a senior and I will have missed those years.

I would take the frustration you have and talk at churches or schools or something and tell you story to thousands of kids .........It may not sink in for all of them, but those that it does make a difference for, we all would benefit......

Something tells me you are involved already though.......

I'll bet you are giving to that boy of yours ways you do not even understand right now..

Stay positive bud!

Simplepeddler thanks for the kind words. I have actually been involved in youth ministry for over ten years. I also work with youth sports organization and special need children for whats called buddy ball. I have made it a emphasis on my life to share with kids what i went through and to not go down the same road. I also took an 16 year old kid whop had dropped out of school into my house as my son and he is now in college in Arizona and interning at a church to become a youth pastor. My life is not all doom and gloom it has been very good and there have been many rewards for doing the right thing. I am also a successful business development manager for a environmental company and i just started my own business. Doing the right thing has been a reward of its self.
