Default Cabelas Shootout May 15-16

Where to start??? Lets talk fishing 1st....

Two day event in Orange Texas and Cabelas put on a great tourment with good payouts...

5 tout limit .....Tout 15inch with one over 25inch limit...
Reds....one per team per day slot 20-28inchs

Day1 fishing was tough we weight in 11.11lbs on 4 trout was sitting good with only 1st place really out there with 17lbs...rest was from 14lbs down....

Day 2 we had a better day on trout, caught lots of fish and hit one hell of a school of reds...

Ended up with total 25.85lbs 7th place trout

Redfish 8.65bls one red 1st place(Fool caught it)

Saltycajun.com had some members fishing....I know we had 4 teams from LA fishing plus 2 Texas teams that are members

Places from our members

Evis102 pulled in a good comeback from yesterday to end up top 5 in 5th place

We were 7th

John S and Steven L were 8th

Now the good stuff..........
#1 JoshL is bad luck around new boats.....Micah I know why your new boat never ran!@

List of what went wrong
1) Rain
2) Wind
3) Ran out of gas on day one coming back from weigh in....Trolled two miles of the 8 we were lacking to the landing
4) boat only gets about 180miles to the tank running like you stole it
5) Day two 1mile from Landing 5:40am...........WHAM....Merc is down.... Hit something huge in the middle of intracoastal............... Check damage and seems that the lower until was still there....Dont know how...
Get to landing.....News is not great.... Skeg Bent, Fiberglass on back bottom cut,Prop nicked.......Roll out..were fishing baby....
6) Josh swims at landing trying to check lower unit twice
7) Bug in eye once getting back up and running
8) Load up with gas cans from run to weight in ..........We run out again...but were ready this time

Haynie made the runs and is one tough cookie to hang around josh....
