What you're hearing about the iPhone4 is all crap. I haven't lost a call yet. Matter of fact, where I live (Milton) I hardly had a signal at all with my 3GS... With my iP4 I have a steady 2-3 bars.

As for ATT customers that don't have good signal at home, AT&T sells what's called a MicroCell. It's a mini cell tower that runs off of your broadband to give you 5 bars in a 5000 square foot area. Works AWESOME! I had to get it and I love it.

Is the Microcell a monthly bill or do you buy it outright and pay monthly usage on it?

apple said a week or so ago that, the problem is not with the phone, it is with the way they rate reception with the bars. They say that the way it is done now isn't really correct. They said when you should really only be having 1-2bars, phones show 5 bars. So something small(like the hand touching the wrong area on the phone) causes it to lose reception all the sudden when it was showing 5 bars. Where as really it should only cause a small reduction in reception and still work just fine, the misrepresentation of true reception is the reason it goes from full reception to nothing just by touching that certain spot.

They say they are updating it to be more accurate and they will make the first few bars larger in size on the phone so they can be seen better.

Don't kill the messenger, just read it off the apple site the other day.

Good to know its minor software issues that can be updated. I just switched from Verizon to AT&T....mainly in part with the wife wanting an Iphone. Like stated earlier....its gonna be nice to have reception on Big Lake (especially south end) and on Rayburn and Toledo. Verizon was sketchy around the lakes.

I am on sprint right now and am switching over to ATT to get the iPhone 4. I looked in to the EVO and the only thing that swayed me was the fact that it is the size of my laptop computer. It was huge in my pocket. I use my phone for a lot of web browsing, texting and emailing, but not too much video watching so the extra large screen just wasnt that important. It just made the phone too big.

I like the larger screen on the EVO because when I'm out of the office I do ALOT of my work on my phone and I'm tired of having the lil bitty screen on my Blackberry. I was able to pull up my company website from an EVO at the Sprint store and it was awesome. I was able to do a few things without having to zoom in a few times or look real close to the screen. I'm either at my desk or in my truck so the bigger size doesn't bother me any.

I got my EVO this evening and man is it AWESOME! The 8 MP camera takes great pics and the 3G is amazingly fast (especially since I was with Nextel before).

No not yet, we just got 3g a few weeks ago, go slow man lol. I go to Aransas Pass every now and then so I'll be able to see what it's all about between there and Houston. I know when I connected my 4g air card on my laptop it was super fast. The 4g connection was faster than the internet I had at the hotel.
