According to the maps on LDWF site, Grande Terre and 4 Bayou pass is still closed.
They still show the Timb. Islands closed too.
Maps have Aug. 20, 2010 dates on them.
11% of state waters are still closed.
I don't see any difference in closed areas yet.

Oops, didn't read that right.
Closed to all recreational angling, except for recreational angling for fin fish.
Trawling, crabbing and oysters are still closed in these areas.

Yes, this is correct. Only STATE waters up to 3 miles. Spoke with Game Wardens this morning and it is only open to the 3 mile line. THat includes from Tiger Shoals all the way to Cameron. Be careful out there. They are starting to enforce the federal waters pretty heavy out of Cameron to the east.

Has there been any reports of oil between Vermillion Bay and Johnson's Bayou? It seems like the federal closure should have been lifted.

Yes B, there was oil out of the Cameron jetties for 2 days. One of our guide's brother is a pilot for the pogie plant. They spotted a large area of oil when Troipcal Storm Alex had hit south TX/Mexico. The winds pulled a fair amount of it across here, but it was gone pretty quickly. Still not sure why these federal waters are closed over here. There is no point.
