No one wants the weirs, except for Miami Corp.
It helps their duck hunting.
It killed the shrimping and fishing in Big Lake.
It is supposed to help the marsh behind it, but I don't see much of that.
Still looks the same to me.

Guys, no threats please. We're all adults here and should be able to have a discussion without threats of violence. What y'all do off the forum is no concern to me as long as it stays off the board.

Flounder smacker....I wish you would please stop hiding behind your keyboard and be a man...and show your self to me one day...you act like you know me well...so you must know where to find me....but guys like you who are cowards and hide behind a screen name is why you would not sign the document
I signed it and I live 4 hours away, I've never fished big lake, probably never will unless I go with someone who fishes it often, I know how it is to have people ruin the recreational fisheries and make it harder to fish, I've fished after hurricanes and I've fished in rivers where the majority of boaters aren't fishers they're pleasure boaters and could careless to slow down for a person fishing and after the oil spill my favorite places to fish were closed for close to 6 months, thank God that is over and we are recovering from that nightmare. If the oyster fishermen are gonna screw up big lake, like all the commercial redfish fishermen screwed up and over harvested all over the gulf years ago, why not stop it?

There's not a lot of oysters in the new opened area, but there are some.
That is not good. They will wipe out a lot of area now.
With low demand for West Cove oysters, they are all gonna jump on the new area.
