That proves nothing...anything paid for by Gov just means who gave a kick back or better price!
That's how Gov works....they get bids from at least 5 company's and usually take middle price.. My wife worked for the Police Jury for 8 years and they are price whores....what can we get the most of for the money!!! I rather judge a motor by who depend on it to make them a living everyday!!!!! Like Guides or Oil field work Boats...

It goes by bid. Many of the coast guard boats I have worked on had Honda. Now ask the wildlife and fisheries how much they like their verado boats. Nothing but electrical headaches.

I rode in that same boat you are speaking of, Hackberry Charters now owns it. That is a VERY slow boat. Cruise at like 32 max 44ish.

You know what I don't get? Honda bikes turn like 14k rpm's........they run super smooth and strong. Why not put that inline 4 into a boat motor!!???? Dependable 4stroke power!

Its due to come out at the end of the year. I had a 24' Triton with a 225 Honda. Top speed was only 52mph but it was quiet, fuel efficient and reliable. Also I never found any trace of gas in the oil. I'm still a year out from my next boat but I can not wait to see the on water test.
