That proves nothing...anything paid for by Gov just means who gave a kick back or better price!

That's how Gov works....they get bids from at least 5 company's and usually take middle price..

My wife worked for the Police Jury for 8 years and they are price whores....what can we get the most of for the money!!!

I rather judge a motor by who depend on it to make them a living everyday!!!!! Like Guides or Oil field work Boats...

It goes by bid. Many of the coast guard boats I have worked on had Honda. Now ask the wildlife and fisheries how much they like their verado boats. Nothing but electrical headaches.

I rode in that same boat you are speaking of, Hackberry Charters now owns it. That is a VERY slow boat. Cruise at like 32 max 44ish.

You know what I don't get? Honda bikes turn like 14k rpm's........they run super smooth and strong. Why not put that inline 4 into a boat motor!!???? Dependable 4stroke power!

different loads, cooling method, the high rev redline is within the bike engines short term operating parameters

the outboard is designed to run at 6k all it's life

Its due to come out at the end of the year. I had a 24' Triton with a 225 Honda. Top speed was only 52mph but it was quiet, fuel efficient and reliable. Also I never found any trace of gas in the oil. I'm still a year out from my next boat but I can not wait to see the on water test.
