I know many here run the Yammies, I don't want to start a flame war! However, the three guys that I fish with all have Yammies and all have new blocks on them, in fact, one has gone through 2 blocks w/ less than 200 hours (200hp, 2 stroke). I had to tow one in last year from Diamond reef in bad arse thunderstorms. That cured me.....

Any brand can leave you stranded....if its mechanical it can break.

and right you are Monty...Most all outboard makes are truely more reliable than they were years ago. I guess it boils down to personal preference and what you think will give you the best service. Good to have choices.

Well I was faced with that same issue ayear and half ago and I bit the bullet on the new BlackJack and have not regretted it. If you decide you are thinking that way you are welcome to take a trip in mine to help you decide.

Went through the same thing last year. Decided to repower my 21 kenner with a 175 suzuki 4 stroke. Also got the inside regelcoated. Looks like a totally different boat now. Just couldnt drop $30-$40k on a new one.
