My bro in law said something about fast passes. If you get there early you can get a "fast pass". He said they didnt have to wait in any lines.

When we went we booked 7 days on site and flights thru travel agent. flew from br to orlando. disney shuttle picked us up at airport and took us to the orleans. Then shuttle took us back to airport after our 7 days..
The way our deal was set up you could go anywhere on disney property at any time.
Only thing they didn't have back then was the meal deals . now you can buy a package for your meals on property.

Went last summer. Stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter resort. It was real nice, awesome pool. I would stay at a Disney resort, the shuttle bus system is convenient going back and forth. It was nice when the kids got tired midday, you can just hop on bus back to hotel for a break. Didnt have to fight the parking.

Other helpful info would be appreciated, too,

I would definitely get the meal plan and you can make reservation 3 months in advance. Look on the website at all the different restuarants and book early cause the better places like Ohana's and Coral Reef(has a huge aquarium) and many others fill up quick. Also if your girls are into the princesses we had a meal in Cinderellas castle and my daughter was able to dress up in one of her princess outfits and majority of the princesses go from table to table sitting down and visiting for a few minutes and your able to take pictures with them. My daughter taked about that for weeks.

Thanks, guys. We booked rooms at Coronado resort, got hopper passes and meal plan. Had 2 free flights from houson for me and wife, 1 daughter's tickets cost me $65.00 and had to buy one for my 2nd girl at full price for $377. Not bad -- 4 roundtrip tickets for $442. And, the best part is that my in-laws are paying for the resort and disney tickets. All I have to pay for is the meal plan. going 10/23-10/30.

We stayed at Nickelodeon resort. Free shuttle to Disney. Wouldn't recommend it. Wife thought she had it covered with $3500. Boy was she wrong!!! Ended up costing way over 6k!!! I attribute that to poor planning......

Wilderness lodge is nice, the campground is worth trying. Stay at a property on the grounds and not one of the all-star sports ones if you can avoid it. We have been six or seven times, the shuttle system works really well. Be prepared to spend alot of money on food.

Laslty, if you don't do anything else MAKE sure you get to the parks at least 30 mintues before they open. Hit the main attractions EARLY. Use the fast pass system when you need to, it works well. You can also download an app for your iphone that posts updated wait times for rides and other information.
