To me, the best guides are the ones who teach me a lot of new things and make me a better angler, so I can, in turn, teach my children new things.

I've been underwhelmed by a lot of guides in too much of a hurry to put a limit of fish in the box regardless of whether the clients are learning or having a good time.

The worst guides are those who neither teach nor put many fish in the box.

"W" is a natural teacher. Being a great teacher has two main components:

1. A mastery and enthusiasm for the subject.
2. Patience and willingness to explain things to novices without being overly judgmental.

"W" and Josh demonstrated both today. Of course, I provided them both with lots of opportunities to demonstrate patience with lots of rookie mistakes.

You definitely got to see a few things that most don't notice trout fishing..... Slicks , busting trout , tailing reds...(tailing Drum) ...schools of bait...
If we would of keep pounding that area over and over we could of picked up more fish but the wind was going to keep blowing us faster and faster over those slicks
