50% is good odds

a few things are 100% true though

1. You will never see a buzzard eating a roadkilled dog
2. Bull bream pee everytime you squeeze em
3. Spitting on your cricket drastically increases your bream catch
4. Ducks Unlimited heats fields up north and....

I am just stirring the pot, don't know but I do know that everytime my grandpa would take me bream fishing and caught a bull bream and it peed he said they were bedding. Next time you catch a bull bream squeeze him and see if he pees. I will bet $100 saltycash that every single one of them you squeeze no matter what time of the year will pee, so that is debunked. However, if you spit on your cricket after you put him on the hook, there is a 150% better chance to catch a bream and that is the gospel truth

Even a lazy red will eat a dead shrimp on a hook

facepalm

This one here is for W

If the tail being blue indicates that the fish is active, and a non-active fish is 'regular' color (reddish), and we know that more blood would be pumping to the tail of an active fish, and that blood is red, yet the fish's tail is blue when there is more red blood pumping to the tail, it would seem that the tail should be red when active, how is this possible?

FOUND THE ANSWER!

Ron Burgundy: Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it Blue tailed redfish, which of course in German means the fish was swimming in pollution
Veronica Corningstone: No, there's no way that's correct. Ron Burgundy: I'm sorry, I was trying to impress you. I don't know what it means. I'll be honest, I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago.
Veronica Corningstone: Doesn't it mean blood rushing to the tail from an active fish? Ron Burgundy: No. No.
Veronica Corningstone: No, that's - that's what it means. Really. Ron Burgundy: Agree to disagree

When you fish muddy fresh water the fish usually don't have much color when you pull em up, and in deep water the same thing. They will change colors (especially sacaulait) after you put em in the icechest. Sacaulait when spawning will have their 'tuxedos' on and be full of color and some even have a black stripe going down their head to the mouth.

if it is not one of those, then it is either Bush's fault or global warming
I fished with Bob G. about 4 years ago and he said they were in a feeding time when it was blue.

When you hang upside down and the blood goes to your head, you turn red though, its gotta be a conspiracy With fish I think its got to do with countercurrent heat exchange, I can draw it but can't explain it

On another note, I am sure many have heard that if a mallard has bright orange legs when you kill it, then it is a 'flight duck', whereas technically most ducks have been flying when you shoot them. The ducks that have been in the air awhile have the bright orange feet, and the 'local' ones have the drab feet. The ones with the drab feet have surely been kicking their feet in the water, and the ones that are flying have em tucked away. I think this goes with the countercurrent heat exchange also, but I have not slept in a Holiday Inn lately. Really wanted W's answer for a laugh before I get mad at the TV for this upcoming debate

Blood isnt't red till it hits oxygen......
It's more of a dark maroon almost purple color........ but thats countercuncurrent to the thesis of rlativitely and saltmeat.
Yelow plus lemons = rusted chrome......
