I wish everyone the best this duck season, but if I could be in Louisiana this weekend, I'd be fishing.

I'm telling my age now, back in the early 80's when pintails were 10 point ducks and the limit was 100 points, my friend Minos and I took 20 drake pintails. We were hunting Pass-a-loutre in Venice and I must say it was one of my most awsome limits ever. I had a picture of them on a flipped over pirogue, however in early 2000 the picture was destroyed by the wicked witch of the west (Ex-wife) so i no longer have the photo, but it was a sight to behold. However now days all things considered any 6 ducks to make a limit is a great day. I hope we all have a safe and productive opening day. Picture added for effect...

Great pick! My dads neighbor accross the street used to own a picking hous and told me that when it was the 10 point system they had a little hunting club down litte chenier road would bring them 90 pintail at a time some days.

probably the old crain bros hunting club. I remember hunting there growing up. Normal limits were 30 drake pintail per blind or a few greenheads thrown in. U didn't shoot hens or teal, grays unless it was a really bad day.

Im telling my age now. Back in the early 80's when pintails were 10 point ducks and the limit was 100 points per hunter, my friend/co-worker Minos and I took 20 drake pintails. We were hunting Pass-a-Loutre in Venice and it was an incredible day in regards to the sheer numbers of pintails we saw and decoyed. I had a picture of the birds, we placed them on the bottom of a flipped over pirogue, however my picture was destroyed by the wicked witch of every direction (Ex-Wife) so I no longer have visiual evidence. It certianly ranked up there as one of my best waterfowl memories and made a beautiful limit. I hope for all of us, a safe and productive opening weekend. Be sure to enjoy every moment with whoever you choose to share a blind with this weekend. The picture is just for effect...

I still vividly remember hunting above White Lake in the rice fields and coming out with a 3 man limit of 30 Pintails. That, my friends, is the ultimate hunt which I thankfully enjoyed on several occasions.

them kind of hunts stick with you forever. My most memorable hunt was when i was 16 and i was hunting in sweetlake at my buddies place it was me,him and his dad. They had a goose blind and it was plowed and the day before we caught like a foot of rain and the field was flooded. We ended the morning with 18 ducks, 6 specks and 32 snows and blues.

Bluebird day when their colors shine with just enough wind to get the decoys moving just the way they like em'. 4 greenies and 2 bulls. Not so much because of what they are, but simply because on this kind of day when they sometimes seem to work from Felix Baumgarten range and IMO there isn't a more awesome sight in the outdoor world than watching a greenhead drop straight down or when you can you treat them like a yo-yo breaking his neck and talking back to you the whole time. And a group of pintails that lock up from heaven and make 2 circles and they still haven't beat a wing since they started their descent. The picture above is perfect. Too me those are memories that burn an imprint in your head forever.
