Go with the elite. It's an updated unit, larger screen, sunlight viewable, better maps, etc..

I have the elite 5 dsi and like it, however i just purchased the new i pilot trolling motor and the lowrance eletronics are not compatiable with that trolling motor. That is the only reason i should have done some research and gotten the hummingbird unit. Have not put the trolling motor on my boat yet cause it came after i left for offshore, can't wait to get home and mount the trolling motor and try it out.

He is talking about the I link where you can set a waypoint on your gps and the trolling motor will take the course. I think humminbird is the only ones that work as they are made by the same company. They are stupid expensive

Bingo. Humminbird is the only unit compatible. And your right with the price. Was looking at them, quickly turned away.

Cajunblaze if you are interested in a trolling motor, after I mount the I pilot unit I just purchased, I will put my Riptide 70# 24 volt 54" shaft hand controlled motor for sale.

I'd rather the trolling motor with the remote control than one that is controlled by a GPS.
What if you are alone and fall off? The trolling motor keeps going... LOL

They supply a lanyard to hang the remote around your neck.
