you can call lafayette shooters and see if they have some in stock i was there about 2 weeks ago and they had a good bit of hand guns in stock

Barneys, like a lot of other places, can't get any guns due to the big rush which wasn't just for AR's. Barney's policy has always been to serve LE first. Once availability is back to normal their service to non LE will resume.
Yes, most LE are issued their sidearms but many choose to carry smaller and more convenient sidearms while off-duty. Up north, where it's colder and people wear more clothing, it's easier to carry service sized weapons concealed while off duty. Down here in the deep south, it's harder when you're mostly wearing just a short sleeve shirt.

That could be a good reason. But if i have to order the gun it shouldnt make a diff. Just my 2 cents.
