Not tryimg to downplay how dangerous drugs can be, but a bust this size wouldn't shut down a drug ring or probably even make the news. Pretty sure if the cops went through all of the trouble digging in a man's *** they were hoping for something like heroin or crystal meth.

Here's another good one. Cops " says " he smells pot so let's dig in 2 women's cavities cuz you can fit a whole lotta weed in there. They didn't even change gloves and on the roadside in front of everyone. By the way they both lost their jobs.

If asset forfeiture didn't exist and they weren't incentivized by fed drug grants then none of this would happen. I saw a show on TV the other day where they found 3 grams of weed on a guy and were able to take his Van.
Policing for profit.

I've reviewed numerous cases of 4th and 5th amendment violations that shock the conscience that are unrelated to suspicions of drug related crimes.

Government agents have lots of different motives for violating the rights of citizens, so taking away one possible motive will not solve the problem. We need criminal penalties for these things.

An illegal search (or attempt) is ILLEGAL. The person making such an illegal search should be prosecuted for the same crime for which any non-government party would be prosecuted had they done the same thing.

Penetration of certain body cavities is considered rape under the law. Once the search is deemed illegal, the crime is rape. Put a few of these perps in prison for rape, and the rest will think twice when the they get the notion to perform an unjustified body cavity search.

Sightwindow- Your response is kind of crazy in my eyes. Not sure where you are going with it???? My comment has nothing to do with cops doing wrong since that happens all the time. We recently had an arrest of the ex-chief for stealing the evidence. He was hooked on pain killers from a shooting - can happen to anyone! Including cops! Not sure where I came across as saying otherwise.

I wish I could read the cops affidavit to the judge requesting the warrant! And every warrant gets a reply filed into court called a "return". I would love to read that one as well.

Does is go something like "subject refused cavity search, medical staff performed anal search with no narcotics recovered". ??????? Does it mention the scope at all????

Yup,
The group mentality and nureacratic efense needs to go away. whever we see corporate criminal fines of 2 billion dollars, why do we not also see someone going to jail. the bigger the organization the better the chance of claiming to "just follow orders." I think we need to hold individuals responsible for following illegal orders and then maybe we will see some change. Most of Hitlers guards were convinced that they were justified because those above them had the "authority" to make them do as they were told. I support mandatory constitutional education for all police officers with powers of arrest. it would take away the "following orders" defense.

I read more on this yesterday but can't get the link right now. It doesn't absolve the cops but this guy has apparently been busted in that town several times and had hidden drugs in his butt before.

Also multiple people have came forward since this story broke saying the same happened to them. Now if they are lying I have no idea but this couldn't have been a first.

So this gives a lawyer a "profiling" claim!

Here's a link from today:

http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/06/justic...earch-lawsuit/

Ok so here is what I am getting from the report...the guy had priors of hiding drugs, they did a traffic stop and was going to let him go but he consented to a search of his car. They did not find any drugs in the car but the drug dog hit on the DRIVER'S SEAT, so I guess they decided well he must have the drugs up his butt!!! LMAO

The dogs are extremely in reliable. They are trained when they hit the get a treat. They did a study a while back. 6 cops with 6 dif dogs. They told the cops there were drugs in one room of the house. The dogs hit on every part of the house. There were no drugs in the house what so ever. This is just one study on this issue. The dogs are found to follow physiological cues of their handlers. If the cops think you have drugs a lot of dogs will hit. They do find a lot of stuff and I'm not down playing a dogs ability but they are easily manipulated. My favorite is the false alert on the cars front bumper out of dash camera range. I had to go to a tire shop in junction Texas to dismount tires because the dog said we had drugs in the rims.

Sorry it was 18 dogs and handlers. False alerted 200 times.

Another one on false alerts as a pretext to take money.
