Water is stained pretty bad in the lake and along the edges of the ship channel.
The clearest water I saw today was in the middle of the ship channel.
I saw lots of birds hitting bait behind a couple tugs in the channel, but didn't
see any birds anywhere else but on the jetties, not flying.
I did see 15 or more guide boats in the West Cove fishing between the headquarters
canal and the first point towards the ship channel. I saw a few more in the
West Fork and a couple at the jetties. The water at the jetties was chocolate brown,
inside and out.
I saw a lot of trucks at the Cameron Jetty's and Calcasieu Point, but not a lot of boats.
Most boats must have went North of the ICW or behind the weirs. The winds are kickin today.
Hope it dies down some. The area I want to fish won't be good with a N/NW wind.
We will have to start potlicking if it stays like this.
The lake looks terrible.

Sounds like not much has changed from last year. I remember mid March--early May....couldn't even think about fishing. 20mph+ everyday Water visibility -4inches! LOL Hope ya'll don't have to deal w/ that again this year. I do think it allowed some trout to spawn w/ out a lot of pressure. Guess that's a good thing.

These winds should not come as a surprise to anyone who fishes in early spring.

Is this a 3 fish stringer?

Or total weight of the Trout caught each day?
