AS if 22 and 20's not cold enough...Dave and Rob say its going to 18. What is the difference between 20 and 18 or does it matter! Anyone know if a fish kill will occur?

With that ship channel, I wouldn't think a "kill" would be as likely on Big Lake.

I hear ya Salty, the ship channel is our savior. But I remember my wildlife teacher telling me about a fish kill on, or around Big Lake many years ago. Any of you more "distinguished" gentalmen remember a big fish kill?

I seen a fish kill in the early 90's. There was a hard freeze. No elect. in Cameron
for 4 or 5 days. I hunted ducks a couple days, then went out in the lake to see
what all the commercial fishermen were talking about.
The lake was full of dead Trout and Reds. The LDWF was out there to make sure
there was no one picking them up. The fish were barely alive, wiggling a little bit,
but were going to die.

Im sure there will be a fish kill, hard to say how bad,but the fish that are not in deep water will more than likely die. It's going to be a cold son of a gun....there saying wind chills in the single digits. I just went stock up on some fire wood....I live in a older wood frame house so it's gunna be hard to keep it warm without a fire.

He's going for heavy equiipment. Attending the Komatsu school. Has apprenticeship with Head Enquest and Komatsu. Second time up. He goes for two months at a time. It appears to be a great school and deal.

A buddy of mine is going to school somewhere up there and has that same type of schedule. He goes for 2 months then works for 2 months with Weatherford I believe.
