#1 potlicking is fishing on someone...Observing is skills.... If you never look at your surrounding and watch you will never learn.... If I see Let's say... Jeff Poe fish an area for 2 weeks..... #1 I'm not going to go fish there or try to beat him their... I'm going to take a pic in my mind...and one day when I pass that area... I'm going scout it out...your a fool if you don't.....and believe me... I have seen HBRG boats watch me fish a spot....for a few days...then they actually bet me their one morning!! That's potlicking...



And that's why you probably can't lean a lake!!! Because you don't pay attention to what's around you...its like taking a test with the answers in front if you look for them.

Potlicking is someone pulling up to a spot you are fishing. Someone fishing on a spot you fish when you get there in the morning just means. YOU SHOULD HAVE GOT UP EARLIER!!!!

And as far as Big Lake.... I know over 20 reefs and spots that almost all on this site have never fished,,,,heard of,,, or even know they were there,,,,,,and not a guide on the West side of the lake knows them.....Because we don't fish them on weekends....never fish at daylight...never fish when boats are running around...

You just gave yourself away. Now I know the secret to becoming a professional big lake trout master in big lake. Sit at heberts on a weekday with night vision goggles. Thanks man I really appreciate the info!

Well if your using night vision come find me because my boats broke down!!!! Only time I fish at night is on a wharf with lights..lots of beer and when I can catch 100 trout in 4 hours with good friends.....

This principle also applies during pre fishing days of a tournament. It is a major NO NO to fish an area somebody was fishing during prefishing especially when its a small area. However if I see that person pulls a big weight, i will make it a point to fish that area in off time. And next tournament on that lake or river, you bet I make it a point to fish it.

It's all part of observing. If I see a guy throwing a crankbait in my area and killing them, ill throw one. Potlicking or not, I'm coming home with a check! Lol

funny because if fisherman 'x' was fishing said spot, and fisherman 'y' was observing that day, and the next morning fisherman 'x' goes back to that spot and fisherman 'y' is already in there, fisherman 'x' gets mad and posts all over the internet about potlickers all the while he himself is potlicking

So basically back to simple algebra II

X + Y = P

Where x = decent fishermen
Y = potlicker
P = pissed off fishermen

Well you will never have to worry about my boat stealing another fisherman's spot.....Had World War 3 over that issue about 6 or 7 years ago on 4th of July.... I find my own fish.....and I hate to fish around others so you will hardly find me fishing around any crowds or boats
