Lots of high $ boats out there. The resale value on the top tier boats has been very good and hold a large % of what was originally paid.
I know a guy in Miss that gets a new YF every 18 mos and except for electronics and stereo upgrades, he recovers nearly all of his original price and plows it into his new boat. He keeps it in pristine shape. YF jacks price up significantly every year so that makes the used boats look like a 'deal'. They have about an 8 month order backlog, so I guess it works for them. I do remember catching tons of fish in the marsh with my brother from a 14x48 flat boat with a 50 Merc (the old 4 cylinder). We built a redwood slotted subfloor to keep it quiet. That little rig was a blast to run. |

If I was able to spend a lot of money on a bay boat it would be a custom built SCB bc if imma spend some money! NO ONE will beat me to my fishing hole! I wanna do 90mph on the way there... but bc I cant afford that.... id be happy with any bay boat in the range of 20-35k

At the Louisiana Sportsman's show they had a new Gravois 25'ish. Asked the Rep and he said 90K. I didn't even see a live well in it. For that kind of money I would just buy an older contender.

That boat was sweet but not what I was expecting. Add three feet to it and another engine and you'd have a pretty cool offshore boat. I was just happy to see one of their recreational boats to be honest! |
