Default I get surprised sometimes

Fished the shootout 3 years ago and there was a reef where I'd caught a 5 and a couple 4's a few days earlier. When I arrived on tourney day there was one boat about 250 yards off the spot and that's the only boat we saw. Got a 6th place in the youth there and broke off twice. Once by a confirmed sow the other unidentified. Then caught several 2-3 pounders and didn't even attract a drift through. You just never know. BTW the boat 250 yards off was reviving a 7 that they caught 10 minutes before i arrived.

Default Ready

Been doing some research on monster trout fishing. So, to get ready for Saturday I bought some corky's, long a's, some sand eels, a few mirrorlures and a baitwell for croakers, shad, and shrimp. Now all I need is to learn how to work them and a few good spots to fish them. Anything else I'm missing?

Well hoping we can manage to make it...my buddys bay boat is in the shop...trying to hang a yammi 225 on another boat on THURS so we can fish on SAT. My 16' foot alum will not suffice in 10+ winds...f'in sucks.

Might just bank fish with the folks at Calc. landing

I sort of did that one year. Was fishing by myself and I got a free top dawg that said First Federal on the side of it for signing up at the bank. I decided, screw it, I am just gonna fish with this all day and see what happens. I took 6th place that year. LOL

On a side note, I will bet 20 bucks that no one will be casting what I will be casting on Saturday morning.

I'm trying to decide what size fish will make me rush back to weigh it to try and get the .5 lb bonus, i'm thinking a 6 or better......

i say a 7.5 wins, two 6.X in 2nd and 3rd, and the rest of the board covered in 5's
