Weedeater's 25 is a long way from stock and so are 40's running over 40.[/QUOTE]

to be honest my motor runs no differnt now then before I had my carb work done, the biggest gain was my exhaust being opened up. If I would be willing to sacrifice the life of my motor and have it port, polished and head shaved it would do alot more but right now all I have is a 25hp 3 cylinder with 40 carbs that are restricted in jets due to me not wanting to do block work but if I wold have more done this motor would most likely see 40mph but then agin I bought a 200hp on a boat so I could go fast if I wanted and save the life of the 25 for what its made for.

You can buy a tiny tach for around 40 dollars. That would tell you where your rpm's are and give you an idea of what direction you would need to go on another prop.

Difference is the hull. If I was to do that, I'd need a spoiler to stay in contact with the water.......I haven't even removed the restricted plate on it.....may do that before I use it again, just to see.

You could get Danny Thibodeax in the Bluff to modify your reed plate if you had the metal reeds and stops still. He's done a lot of motors like yours and they run really well with that modification alone and no change in motor life. My 30 yamaha with the reed plate alone was running 32-33 with just me in the boat and negative trim.

You don't need bigger jets. Danny could really help you out on that motor.

it does all it needs for me, if someone buys it they can put more money in it, I have a boat to do 70+ no use in me spending more on this one

Running a 16ft express with a 70hp yamaha and might get 40mph! 17 pitch prop.

Currently, we have an old,1980's 25 merc on a 16.5' new Marshrunner, and it makes 28-30 mhp. With a newer motor, you get more speed, of course!

You guess. 4 stroke, 4 cylinder, 40hp Merc with a 60 ecu, turning a 16 pitch prop 6250 rpm on an Edge 556. You will see a lot more of these hulls real soon.

Never heard of an edge boat. Where can I find some info on one? Not to be smart, but what makes them so special?
