Never flip a quarter to see who has to pick up on the boat trailer when it's been backed off the end of a launch. Especially at Lake Martin when the water is 45 degrees...

Run the winch strap and/or rope under the last crossmember of the trailer then hook it the bow of your boat. Reverse the boat and the trailer should come up. Let someone else pull the truck up while you are lifting the trailer. |

Blue Brillo pad will take the rust off of most metal (gun barrels, knives, etc...) without damaging the metal. Never tried it on a blued barrel though.

A copper penny will also remove rust from bluing w/o damaging the bluing.

Hook the trailer with your anchor and pull away. Nobody gets wet!

If you have a leak in one of your boots you can use a trash bag over that foot to get you through the hunt. It will keep your leg/foot dry but you will still be pretty cold.

Felt or burlap used as a base layer wrapped around your blind (not a pit blind obviously) will help out with the wind chill.

You can make any pair of boots or waders "ankle tights" with an old tire tube. Cut about a 2 inch wide strip out of the tube. Slip the whole thing over your foot and around your ankle, criss-cross it once then loop the remaining tube over your foot again.
