jjam, probably gonna be some slim pickings on the crawfish. you can get all the shrimp you want at some wicked good prices in either St. Bernard or in Bay St. Louis on the way back to PCOLA. Have her throw you a sack of oysters in the back seat.

Also, would it be worth throwing an ice chest in her trunk for a sack of crawfish? Are they available and if so any size to them???..not to worried about high prices as a few of us crawfishing starving fools will be splitting the cost..LOL

I was at a boat launch in the Atchafalaya basin on Friday a week ago......one boat came in and he only had 2 sacks. Water is very high all over in Louisiana.....that will be good for crawfishing later in the season.

I also saw a person out in a crawfish pond along I-10 checking his traps. I have not heard anything about seafood places selling crawfish......they might selling to restaurants now.

Went to get oysters yesterday and the place I was at was giving tasters on the crawfish. I was asking the guy about em and he said that the prices have gone down in a week's time and were at $3.79/lb boiled. Dang the one they gave me was good!!! He said his guy was running 350-400 traps to come up with 3-3.5 sacks! That's NOT good numbers! He was fishin the Basin/Belle River.
