As for numbers in the BlackJack with the 250 SHO I have topped out at 63. I usually will run one or two MPH more then the RPMs I am turning but of course you burn way more fuel up there. Cruising at 45-48 is where I usually am at.

2006 22" blazer bay yamaha 250 hpdi
Cruise at 38,000 RPM at 40mph
Fishing load, 3 men and 3 limits of trout 52 mph
1/4 tank of gas and empty boat 63 mph

All it does at 38,000 rpm is 40? I was thinking around 200 mph.

Definitely not enough load on that motor. That boat should have a hole shot better than an F-18 shooting off the bow.

2012 blackjack 224 with 250 sho does low 60s with a good but great fuel mileage cruising!

Here's mine.. CS J16 w/ 25 zuke. Light 33mph, loaded 29-30mph. Always WAO, no cruise. The BJ w/ 250 opti cruise 38-40 @ around 4mpg. WAO, 57-58mph with med. load and 5900rpm.

As long as you can keep it straight and out of the chop they are good.. It WILL slide and it WILL get you wet. I us it mostly for marsh fishing.
