It was just a joke in reference to people being titled as an engineer and not having a degree. operating engineers represent about 400,000 members, none are engineers. For the last 118 years.

W, as Cripley stated, my wife took an engineering position there about 6 months ago. She was as Lyondell in Houston for 8 years before leaving. Overall she is more than pleased with Sasol. Just like with most companies, there are some challenges, but its how you handle those challenges. You can complain about them or you can do something about them. She is very excited about the potential growth opportunity that is coming down the pipeline. Additionally, my brother-in-law, is the shift supervisor for the ECHO unit (new unit going in). He has been there for 17 years and has enjoyed it very much. He said they have been more than fair to him and given him every opportunity to advance his career. Happy to put you in touch with either one of them if you want to pick their brain. Congrats on the gig and good luck!

Wrong.
Each line is a different requirement.

The "or equivalent" means education equivalent to a BS in engineering.

The next line of 5 years experience is a different requirement. Just like the third line is different from the second.

Wrong because I have the email from Sasol which my resume was accepted and approved for interview / hire for the position I stated from get go

I will go to interview when I come in and see if it's worth me leaving a job of 15 years for very little more money

And best part was I did not apply for this job it was sent to me by a guy I know who asked for a resume and then told me I was accepted for this position if I would like to come interview

Y U Mad Bro?

I would be sure to ask about overtime requirements. If all the other plants are like ours the operators are not getting their days off like they are supposed to. I don't know if I've gotten a seven off yet this year. We've had people leaving for other plants and we have even more considering moves. Just when it looks like we might get training done to fill vacancies a few money jump ship. I think it will be like this for a couple years. Even the overtime hogs are getting tired of working all the time.

Nope, you should know that BRUH will be exempt from having to join the union and needing an ENGR degree.

I doubt you "have" to join. But it would probably be in your best interest I would think.

Sasol is in the process of building one of the biggest plants in the country. The total project will be upwards of $22 billion dollars after all phases are complete. It will be a huge economic boost for the Lake Charles/Sulphur area. Shell has scrapped their plans to build the $12 billion dollar GTL facility in Ascension parish.
