Default East/NE wind @20 coming next Monady

Coming down to Venice for our annual redfish trip this Sunday evening.
Forecast calling for East or NE winds for all four days.

We usually fish the bay behind the second weir or Burwood Bayou.

22'Shearwater.

Will this wind make things tough?

A 20 mph wind is tough on a 1 acre pond in the middle of the woods

Red face

Yeah.. good comparison.
I wonder what the wave heighth will be on the river.
If I can get to the east side, I could run it on down to Burrwood.

But that mile or so run could be a little TOO MUCh for this Old and not so Bold captain

And you're on the back side of the cold front. Better to find a different hobby for Monday.

According to Windfinder, the winds are supposed to start picking up this evening and staying that way into next week. So we will see. That was the report for Cameron anyhow.

How comfortable are you with hugging the east bank? Not really familiar with the area you're talking about but it can get dicey around cubits gap running the east bank.

I did it in my old 15ft flats skiff in November a few years ago. Winds were east and blowing 20-25mph!

It sucked, but it's do-able. We made it to the head of the passes by hugging east bank, hen fished marsh for redfish. With that said, I will likely never do it again :-)

There are opportunities that don't require a MS River run. We did that on day 2

Drive upriver to buras and launch on the west side of the levee. Head north and try the yellow cotton bay area.

The winds were unbearable today... The birds could not even work. Will use tomorrow to catch up on some of the growing honey-do-list.
